Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer, Funeral Celebrant, Event Planner, End-of-Life Guide

Hi, my name is Micheline. I'm a licensed funeral director and embalmer, funeral celebrant, event planner, and end-of-life guide. I like to think of myself as your Friendly Neighborhood Mortician.
My goal is to support you and your loved ones in whatever life stage you're experiencing - whether you're getting your own affairs in order, caring for someone at end-of-life, planning a memorial, or trying to figure out what to do with those ashes in your closet... All of these things can be overwhelming; let's walk through it together.

I am able to use the breadth of my experience to help folks prepare for the one thing we avoid talking about most - death and end-of-life care. My extensive education and experience in the funeral profession has given me a unique perspective into the end-of-life and bereavement process. I have also completed the Indigenous End of Life Guide program through First Nations Health Authority, Palliative Perspectives course with palliative care clinician Elizabeth Beddard-Huber, and Foundations of MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying) in Canada through Queen's University.
While I am not offering the services of a funeral home such as Cremation, or Burial, if you are looking for an alternative to the service available on the Sunshine Coast, contact KORU Cremation | Burial | Ceremony. As a Celebrant, I am able to help you create and officiate a meaningful and memorable farewell for your loved one. As an Event Planner, I will help bring your idea to fruition and take care of all the details.
As an End-of-Life Guide, I will walk you through the process of planning for end-of-life (your own or someone you are caring for) and give you the tools and information to make sense of it all. I firmly believe that knowledge is power, so I also offer Community Education sessions on all sorts of topics. We are stronger together and I love engaging in discussion with a group!
My motto is always go big or go home - or my personal favorite explicit version - "I don't half-a** anything." When I put my mind to something I want to do it well. In this spirit, I was selected as Class Valedictorian upon graduation from the Canadian College of Funeral Service in 2021. I am also the winner of two scholarships from the Funeral Service Foundation - the "Foundation 45 Award" ($5000 USD) in 2021, and the "Professional Women's Conference Scholarship" (Round trip/accommodations to Toronto, ON and registration at National Funeral Directors Association Conference) in 2022. I apply this same philosophy to all aspects of my life and business, and I work to ensure your needs are met throughout any journey we are taking together.

In my spare time I love spending time in or near the ocean preferably with my family, unless I'm doing one of many runs to and from the studio for my thriving dancers!
